"Where a technician or designer might not see the uniqueness of their work, we do. Everyone contributes, and together, they create a compelling brand story that intrigues the reader." - Charlotte Backx, Owner Door Lotje Getikt

About Door Lotje Getikt (DLG)

Thirteen years ago, Charlotte Backx founded her SEO copywriting agency, Door Lotje Getikt. Today, DLG has grown into a firm with nine employees. Since 2016, they have also focused on digitally accessible communication (B1 level). "When you communicate accessibly online, you become more visible on Google, and storytelling is essential. That's the package we offer," explains the owner.

Approach

DLG uses Apostle for both themselves and their clients. Every two months, Charlotte spends time in the library writing her social media posts (50 in total!). A colleague schedules these, including visuals, through Apostle. With a bit of fine-tuning, Charlotte maintains her social media presence for two months without having to think about it. They follow the same process for their LinkedIn company page, clients, and colleagues. "Apostle is a must-have tool if you work with us and want to enhance your social media presence," says Charlotte.

Why Apostle?

Charlotte believes that making a company's story more known benefits everyone involved. Positioning yourself as an expert is advantageous not only for your company but also for your career. "You also claim authority on the subject." For example, at QC Lightfactory, they've engaged various people from different departments: a technician, a designer—everyone is interesting as a brand ambassador. "Where a technician or designer might not see the uniqueness of their work, we do. Everyone contributes, and together, they create a compelling brand story that intrigues the reader."

"We don't work from desk research; we always hold editorial meetings." With her journalistic background, Charlotte values talking to people. "We could write yet another blog about tomatoes, but by talking to us, we discover that you use a unique spraying technique. The tomato farmer might not realize it, but a layperson finds it fascinating. You uncover the most interesting facts and cool anecdotes by speaking with people. It makes a story personal and authentic. People find what you do cool. That's when you get content that comes alive. Those stories get lots of likes and engagement on social media."

The Power of Employee Experience

Charlotte gives another example: "A plumbing company might say they have nothing to post about, but I disagree. You experience something every day. Your niche might not seem interesting, but the people who work for you are." She mentions an employee who realized after five years that customers appreciated him removing his shoes at the door to keep their house clean. "One post about that on social media, and you get 500 likes instantly because people love a considerate plumber. They've worked as plumbers for 15 years and no longer see it. We, as an external party, do."

Challenge

Charlotte identifies a challenge in reactive marketing: posting on social media only when business slows down or during off-seasons. "Ideally, you want to create constant visibility to establish yourself as an authority, and I believe Apostle supports your content efforts." Many companies employ someone to write and post content monthly, but no reader thinks, 'Today, a new blog from company X is coming online.' "You need to showcase the content yourself, and Apostle allows you to do this sustainably." You can promote a blog multiple times. By using different texts and images on social media, you recycle content. Posting it three times at different moments reaches different audiences. "A lot of content gathers dust on the digital shelf. You can wait for visitors to find you via Google, but you can also actively reach out."

Benefits of Apostle

Compared to Meta Business Suite, Apostle offers a significant advantage: control over what you post. In the past, DLG didn't offer social media services because there was no guarantee for interaction. "I've been able to schedule posts for clients for a long time, but if comments aren't responded to, I find that very unattractive. Social media is personal, and we must engage with our followers," Charlotte emphasizes. Since partnering with Apostle, they now manage clients' social media. New posts arrive in the Apostle app or email for approval, so you always know what you post. "If I post something today, it's fun to monitor my LinkedIn for interaction; otherwise, it just gathers dust," Charlotte believes. "Instead of scheduling social media posts in Business Meta Suite, Apostle engages you with your followers. You are aware of the post despite it not taking much time."

"It also saves a lot of time by working efficiently and reaches a wide audience. You can schedule all your posts in an hour and then not think about it again." Besides saving time, consistent visibility is another advantage. You always need visibility, and DLG's clients notice this, too. Clients keep returning to DLG for a content rocket (a strategic plan and a package of solid texts on a specific topic, precisely tailored to their audience) because they receive significantly more inquiries about their product or hire new employees. "Given this fact, I know it works very well."
